Medical billers make up a huge part of the healthcare industry.
Every medical facility that sees patients’ needs qualified medical billers to make sure the patient’s medical
claim is billed properly so the facility can get paid for the work performed. This can include seeing a
patient in the doctor’s office; radiology tests; and even critical care treatment for both inpatient and
outpatient needs.
Without proper training medical claims could be filed with
errors. This causes problems in lost revenue and a delay in payment on the medical
bill.
The medical biller will be responsible for reviewing and verifying
the claim before billing the insurance company, government (Medicare / Medicaid), etc. They will also follow
up on the payment status.
Our medical billing course gives you the most effective way to
become a Certified Billing Specialist. The course also
includes Health Insurance Specialist Training which will help to insure sufficient preparation to pass any
certifier examination.
Please be cautious of companies and websites that tell you that
you can make over 50K your first year!
Most medical billers will start out around $30 - $45K their first
year. Of
course this is just an average. There are some people
out there that make over this amount and others that might start out making a little less to gain more
experience.
Some medical billers do have the option of working at
home. In most cases the medical biller will work directly for the hospital or doctor’s
office for a period of time before they are allowed to do the work from their home. Not all facilities
allow billing to be done from a home office. However, we are seeing a rise in the percentage of home workers
in the medical billing career field.
We do recommend that you become a “Certified Billing Specialist”
by taking the Certification Exam after completing our course. CBS exams usually cost
between $225.00 and $275.00. We will supply you with the information you need in order to take your CBS
exam. The CBS exam is not given through MTatHome.
We also offer a

Coding (combo)
